How are you doing lovely people? I have been a bit quiet here on the blog and on Instagram too. This is not a result of lack of interest in what I do or a lack of interest in my followers. But in my humble opinion, it is totally ok sometimes in life to pause.
The need to take a moment to reflect on the work we are doing, and also to tell ourselves the truth that no one will tell us is necessary. Sometime in life, the environment we are in and the circumstances we face are clearly against our most genuine, most determined desire to grow. And it is ok to stop rushing, to just breath and trust the universe.
This is my first post of the year and it only makes sense that I wish you my readers happy New Year 2019. I hope you are having a great year so far. For the holidays, my family and I traveled to Italy. Although we have been to Rome before, we haven’t visited Milan yet and for the holidays, I thought that it would be interesting to celebrate Christmas in the Fashion Capital. Milan people have such a great sense of style, and our stay was simply easy and lovely. The highlight of our stay in Milan was the visit of the Duomo di Milano. This is a must! Very unique and throughout elaborate architecture.
After a few days in Milan, we went to Lake Como by train. It has always been my dream to discover Venice and Lake Como. If you are in lake Como during the Christmas season, make sure to visit the Christmas night Market. Children love this experience. We basically went everyday to the Christmas Market where we enjoyed some delicious artisanal chocolate and I had a great time drinking some Vin brulé.
Vin brulé is a hot red wine that has a pleasant taste and aroma. It is perfect for the cold weather.
Venice is truly a popular destination in Italy and I’m glad that we went at that time of year. It was less crowded than during the Film Festival and than in Summer. Venice has its own unique charm because of its history and breathtaking views.
There is the Doge Palace. The waiting time to this museum is quite long. However there are some sightseeing companies that will give you the option to visit the Palace without having to wait two and half hours if you are willing to pay a bit more for the ticket.
We stayed at Hotel Danieli, a Luxury collection Hotel located right on the Piazza Di Marco. The hotel was built at the 14th century and its location on San Marco Piazza was just perfect . There are all the main attractions at 5minutes walk. We also rode the iconic gondola which is a must when you visit Venice.
Just sharing some of the photos that I believe express how much I loved every single moment we spent in Italy. The people, the food, and the hospitality made me feel extremely appreciative.
Thanks for reading.
