Recently during Spring Break, my family and I went to a private Island off the west coast of Malaysia. After a short but rough travel via speedboat, we arrived at the resort on a rainy afternoon. Upon our arrival, the staff told us that we couldn’t get the joining rooms I thought I had requested and there also was no villa available. As a mother, I honestly worried that we only had the option of two separate rooms but however, everything went smoothly during our stay. My worry of not having the joining rooms (so I can watch over my daughters) was quickly eased after the first night. They were just fine!
The resort entirely designed according to Malaysian architecture was very green and clean. Numerous local Malaysian elements including the natural lush rainforest give the resort a unique appeal. On our arrival day, we enjoyed our first lunch at a small restaurant on the emerald beach. The food was surprisingly good and the service was good too. The breakfast was served in a different restaurant and I particularly enjoyed eating my breakfast every morning with a sea view. They served local breakfast as well as Western breakfast. I also saw up close and for the very first time a hornbill bird on this Island
Pangkor Laut Resort has overwater villas and luxurious spa bordered by lush rainforest. There is a tennis court, a gym, a private beach. Helicopter transfers direct to the Island are available but you can also reach the Island from a jetty at Marina Island Pangkor. You will be the transferred to the Resort via speedboat with a short travel time of approximatively 15mn.
If you are looking for an elegant, green and isolated hideaway to unwind, Pangkor Laut might just be what you are looking for. Even the famous and talented Pavarotti was a fan of this Island. Read more here
