How to wear a trend without looking too trendy?
One of my favorite designers Carolina Herrera { this look here} and {here} said and I quote” I don’t like trends. They tend to make everybody look the same”. How true is she? I could not agree more with her! Trends can be fun but they do make everybody look the same. In my humble opinion, what keeps fashion interesting is individuality. We don’t want to all look the same, we want to be different and diverse as much as possible.
That being said, sometimes, we find ourselves in love with a trend and the question is what do you do when you see a trend that you really like? Do you simple reject it or you make it your own. In my case I try to be as unique as possible but when I really like a trend, I make it my own. Styling is the key that will help you wear a trend without looking trendy. In this post, I’m wearing off shoulder top which is a current trend. However, the way I have styled it definitively makes my off shoulder look unique. I feel elegant and classy all at the same time. The white sunglasses and the elegant sheer stripe midi skirt styled with some nude accents give to my overall look. My take on styling this off shoulder is perfectly classy and not trendy. This is a classy look that you can easily wear this coming wedding season, or simply to go to brunch, or even to the church.
To the question how to wear trend without looking trendy? I’ll say: Firstly, stay away from looks that are styled head-to-toe with trendy pieces by mixing with something classy. Secondly when wearing a trendy piece, use accessories that can express your individuality and add that “je ne sais quoi” to your look. Make it your own!

What an awesome outfit!!! Love the white on white and how you styled two trends at once.
