During my recent journey to Africa, I was on the lookout for quality African designs. I came across Nanawax an interesting boutique that carries a line of contemporary African designs in Cotonou, Benin. The designs transcend international borders. You can look good walking down the streets anywhere from Paris to Hong Kong or New York. This skirt has a beautiful print and I’m impressed with the quality of craftsmanship. For the styling for my skirt, I wanted to mix prints and add a modern twist to my African look. If you like mixing prints, then you may know that the key to style mix prints beautifully is harmony. What I mean by harmony is that the different prints must complement each other for an easy vibe. In this case, I mixed gingham and African print that some call Ankara or Nanawax.  And voila! the result is a polished look of Ankara with a modern twist. I hope you like it.
