Hello Everyone!
What I love about blogging is that it gives me a reason to dress better than we expats wives are expected or known to dress here. Naturally, I don’t always fit in. I have lived and studied in Paris and I have also lived and started my family in Los Angeles. Needless to say both these places have influenced me in so many ways. These two cities are known to encourage and celebrate diversity in many aspects of life and including diversity of styles. Not to hurt anyone’s feeling but it is a good thing when we are not expected to dress like, talk like or look like in order to fit in!
My very first style influence was my mother in my early childhood in Africa. She was one of those people who really believe that dressing well is a form of good manner. I like the fact that even though I’m living away in a foreign land, I’m trying to keep a sense of style because it is really part of who I am. I can’t live without fashion. I have tried once and failed because I was so miserable. I have lost friends because of my love for fashion, I have been criticized but at the end of the day, I have to stay true to myself.
I like diversity in most aspects of my life, and my style is no exception! As matter of fact, this look is quite different from my previous look. I’ve decided to style my lace jeans with a bright pink jacket and a hat. I really like the lace work on the jeans against the bright pink. I would like to think of the bright color of my blazer as mood enhancer. I hope I have enhanced your mood or at least inspire you to do what makes you happy. Also I would love to read your views about your love for fashion and how it has impacted your life!
