How is everyone doing? I can’t believe that we are at the end of the year! 2015 is upon us and I’m looking forward to it! Believe it or not 2014 wasn’t my best year as I went thru one challenge after another. But the resilience of human being resides in picking ourselves up when we are on the ground and starting over. Anyway, this post is about Vietnam, my current location. My family and I will be spending our end of the year in Ho Chi min City after few days here in Hoi An.
Feeling lucky to be here in Vietnam with my hubby and the girls! Vietnam has been on my list of places to visit for the longest time! Now, You can imagine my excitement when I finally come here. Prior to our travel, the guy at the Vietnamese embassy told us to come pick up our visa on the 25th. We thought it was weird because the 25th is Christmas day. Sure enough, when we went back to pick up the visa on the 25th, the embassy was closed but on the receipt it said: pick up 25th. We had to cancel our tickets and change our departure date. This also involved paying some penalty. Needless to say I wasn’t happy but by God’s grace we now are here. We only need to brave the rainy, windy and chilly weather in order to do some sightseeing.
The first stop for our Vietnamese trip is the old town of Hoi An. This is a very old but charming town that attracts so many tourists. It is also listed by Unesco as the World Heritage site. This place truly reconnects its visitors to what is essential in life! I love it so much that it makes me miss Africa. Now I’m seriously considering changing my summer 2015 vacation destination. Instead of Santorini, Greece, we might be going to Africa. But first, we want to enjoy our Vietnamese trip. My kids really love discovering new cultures, foods and people! In spite of the windy and chilly weather, we managed to do some sightseeing here in Hoi An. My daughters really enjoyed visiting the silk worm factory and the old Japanese bridge built in the 17th century. To be honest, I never know if I should share my family pictures here on my blog since it is about style and I’m trying to look as professional as I can. Beside, there have been some kidnapping of kids where I live. But at the same time, the family is composed of the people that not only we love the most but we also spend most our time with so I hope you understand!
Thanks for stopping by!!
