Hello Everyone!
Today is my birthday and it is only natural that I want to take a minute and reflect. As I reflect on my life, I come to understand that I need to redefine what success means to me and be grateful.
As a little girl, my idea of successful life was to graduate and to get a good job. You see, I always liked the idea of independent women. This is maybe due to the fact that I grew up watching my mother be a very independent and successful women.
But today as I celebrate my birthday and I clearly see how far I’ve come, I now understand that success comes in many different ways. We all have to redefine what success means to us. For me regardless of all my failures, I feel like a successful person not because I have that office job that I desperately wanted but because I have a happy family who loves me unconditionally. I also know that I matter because I’m doing my best as parent. It is important to know that you matter and I want you who are reading this blog to know that you matter as well, regardless of what the society tells you. If your life is not going the way you may have planned, it doesn’t mean that you are a failure. Keep doing your best and make sure you surround yourself with people who really love and appreciate you. Most importantly, remember that being successful sometimes may just mean having a loving and healthy family and being grateful for it!
For my birthday dinner, I wore this green dress from BCBG that I never had the courage to wear before as it is a bit sexy. My birthday was the perfect day to wear something sexy. My shoes are from Louboutin and my clutch from Versace.
