Hello, Friends!
Yesterday was the Met Ball. Have you watched the Met Gala red carpet yesterday? If you have watched it then you must have seen Rihanna wearing Comme des garcons dress. The details on the shoulders of my shirt remind me of the details on her dress which by the way won the best dressed according to all the popular magazines. My white shirt is a design of the hottest Japanese designer COMME DES GARCONS whose work has been chosen as the theme of this year Met Ball. Comme des garcons which means “like the boys” in French was founded by Japanese designer Rei Kawakubo in 1973. The designer has a unique aesthetic that translates her designs into work of art. Her collections are made of wearable art that very few people dare to wear. However, I styled my shirt which is relatively wearable with Topshop jeans and Hermes accessories. What do you think of my styling?
Rihanna Met Gala dress proved very well that “for something to be beautiful, it doesn’t have to be pretty” as stated by the designer herself. I also could not agree any better with Rei Kawakubo, the founder of Comme des garcons who thinks that “the fundamental human problem is that people are afraid of change”. How relevant is her statement? One thing is for sure, we need change now more than ever! What makes us different from animals is our ability to look at life from many different angles and to embrace a diversity of people, culture, and fashion as well! Thank for stopping by.
