Hello Lovelies!
My post today is about fashion although I would like to have some real talk about womanhood. Why you ask? simply because I honestly believe that only clothes won’t change the World however the women who wear the clothes will.
Recently my conversation with a friend reminded me of an incidence that occurred during my shopping trip at Herve Leger in Italy. During the fitting, I was surprised when the staff told me that another customer does not want to come out of her fitting room (we were only two customers at the time). Naturally, I innocently asked: why? Only then the ladies replied”: “Oh she said because you have two kids and still look better than her” (yes I was with my husband and my two girls) . I didn’t know what to say because I didn’t do anything to make her feel the way she felt. The only thing I could say was “I’m sorry she feels that way”.
Now here is the real talk: It appears to me that the lack of confidence among women in general affects our relationship in the society. This kind of situations happens often where a women you don’t even know hate you for no apparent reason. It seems that women like to make comparison and compete with each other instead of being supportive of each other. To compare yourself to another women, a total stranger who happened to be shopping at the same moment as you is simply unbelievable!. Especially when the women is neither the skinniest nor the prettiest girl out there. There is always someone prettier or skinnier or richer or taller or smarter. The trick is to love who you are and be happy with what you have.
We need to embrace our flaws and avoid comparing ourselves to others in every aspect of life. We are unique and beautiful in our own way. Don’t they say: “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder”? Beauty can be a complex subject but ultimately the trick is to embrace our flaws. God knows I can name all my flaws!!! The key is not to be perfect but to love yourself no matter what. However in the case that you are not happy with yourself and trust me that would happen, make some resolutions to better yourself and follow through. I don’t believe in comparing ourselves to others or hating others who work hard for their look or who are simply more blessed than us.
To make things worse and with the era of social networking, there is another type of haters that I call the virtual haters. They hate you, even when you show them love! Of course at some point, you stop chasing them. Remember one thing, never beg for Love, likes or friendship. It should be natural not forced.
Coming back to this black dress, don’t you just love the fringe? I love to see fringe in motion, it is simply beautiful! After the fringe skirt, here is a fringe dress that I style with all black accessories. The shoes are Louboutin and the Chanel caviar flap is simply timeless. Thank you for reading.
