After traveling for quite a bit over the years, I have started to think that your first impression of a destination is the hotel where you check in. For my very first trip to Laos, I stayed at Avani + Luang Prabang
The check-in was easy and quick and I was accompanied to my room after a welcome refreshment. I felt welcomed by the staff, an emotion that is always good to have when you arrive at your hotel after hours of flight. My room was just perfect and I love waking up to the pool view every morning.
Avani is a modern understated luxury boutique hideaway. The hotel was formerly the site of French officer quaters, then home to a landmark local hotel. I felt in love with its classic contemporary style and its colonial architecture heritage. There is also a yoga room and a gym available!
The staff was very professional Avani and helped me organize many sightseeing activities. My Kuang Si Falls experience was amazing and so was the Sunset watching at mount Phou Si. I will share more photos of my Laos trip over the next few weeks. It seems that Luang Prabang is set to become one of the top destinations in Asia. I would definitely say that my very first trip to Laos went rather smoothly and I came back home with great memories.

Ending my trip in Luang Prabang by giving Alms to the monks early morning around 5.30am on my last day before heading to the airport for my flight back home. This is one of the tradition of Laos Buddhism. My entire trip including staying at Avani Luang Prabang is an experience that I would recommend to travel lovers. Thanks for reading!I was happy that most places, except for the waterfall, weren’t far from the hotel which has bikes as a complementary service. I very much enjoyed biking along the Mekong river to go tour important landmarks of Luang Prabang.
