Hello lovelies!
How was your week? I hope good! If you have been following me on Facebook here or on Instagram here, you must have known that I took a quick getaway to an island in Indonesia, and no it is not Bali. Though I have been to Bali many times before, this was my very first time in Lombok and I was not disappointed! Aside from being less crowded and less made up than Bali, watching the sunset from the deck of the Sudamala Hotel was absolutely breathtaking every night. Needless to say that Lombok has now become one of my all-time favorite destinations in Indonesia. I also have discovered my love for a traditional Balinese music that was playing every night at the Hotel which itself is an oasis made with traditional architecture utilizing a lot of bamboo. During our stay I like the thoughtfulness of the staff who sent me a little welcome note together with a fruit basket on our arrival day and a little sandwich basket for each one of us on our departure day. It really was the kind of getaway I needed to clear my mind. Lombok definitely restored my soul and rejuvenated my mind.
Senggigi Beach where we stayed.
Found these local fruits on our way from the airport.
The view from the restaurant is breath taking!
My masseuse who covered me in banana leaf after hour long massage and told me that I now look like an Indonesian food, really?!! You need to check it out by yourself in the picture below.
Sorry but we all know that during spa, you just don’t look glamorous!
Gili Trawagan is mainly popular among the bag packers.
So colorful!I found these beads on Gili Air Island where we stopped for snorkeling.
The man in charge of taking us to Gili islands. He was very knowledgeable of the Islands’ stories. Unfortunately the water wasn’t clear enough which explains why our snorkeling trip to Gili Islands wasn’t successful.
However, our not so lucky day quickly took a better outcome when we found a place where we had a delicious taco and a local soup for lunch. After lunch we headed back to the Hotel.
As parent and no matter where I go, I found it great when the kids make friends they can play with during our stay. This time was no exception, I was pleased to see them playing on the beach every day with new friends during our stay on Senggigi beach. The wave wasn’t that great, yet it didn’t stop them from doing a little surfing. Needless to say it was a fun getaway for the entire family!
My damage toes were so happy to be out of my high heels for most of the time we were there! Thank you for stopping by.
